Thank You for Joining the Conversation
Thank you to everyone who joined us for the first Hand Up Partners Community Discussion: Daring to Solve Homelessness.
We were encouraged to see people from across our community come together—not simply to talk about homelessness, but to begin asking a more challenging question:
What would it take for Lancaster, as a community, to actually solve it?
Our first gathering was just the beginning. Over the course of this seven-part series, we’ll continue bringing together residents, volunteers, business leaders, service providers, faith communities, and neighbors who want to move beyond temporary solutions toward lasting change.
The Conversation Continues
Daring to Solve Homelessness — Part Two
Wednesday, September 16, 2026 / door opens at 6 pm, discussion begins, 6:15 pm.
West Art
816 Buchanan Avenue
At our next gathering, we’ll take the conversation one step further as we explore practical steps to solving homelessness. Among many things that we plan to discuss, we will be diving into the booklet “A fresh Approach” written in 2020 by HUP founder Dave Costarella. If you were not at the last meeting to receive a copy you can read it online here. https://dcandco.net/afreshaproach.pdf
We will also be looking into existing programs and analyzing if they are solving or perpetuating homelessness, along with discussing new ideas and proven methods toward solving homelessness.
You do not need to have attended the first event to participate. Whether you joined us last time or are just hearing about the series, we would love to have you at the table..
Thank you for being part of a new conversation about homelessness.
The first step to solving homelessness is that you have to want to, and the next is to build a community to develop and implement strategies that will accomplish these goals. And Yes it is possible!
